Handles low light
Grows slowly but stays glossy in rooms with little natural light.

A tough East African plant that stores water in thick underground rhizomes. It keeps its glossy, dark green leaves in dim rooms, AC offices and corridors, and needs watering only every two to three weeks. Overwatering is the one real risk.
