Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)

Snake Plant

Stiff, sword-shaped leaves from West Africa that store water. It takes low light, AC rooms and weeks without watering, which makes it the safest first plant for a busy home. The one thing that kills it is soggy soil, so water sparingly, especially through the monsoon.
